Kinship Family and Youth Services offers an array of services to children and their families. In-Home Family Services Specialty Children's Services
Residential Diagnostic Care for Children
The home is an alternative to in-patient psychiatric hospitalization or other placement not clinically appropriate for children. Services are provided for children who demonstrate varying degrees of emotional and behavioral disorders and require temporary residential care for screening and diagnosis. Each child in care receives comprehensive diagnostic testing and evaluation by our clinical team. This includes a psychosocial assessment of the child and family, medical screening, psychological assessments, psychiatric evaluation, educational assessment and milieu assessment. Prior to each child's discharge, the referring agency will receive a comprehensive, written diagnostic report with the findings from the child's evaluation. This report will contain recommendations for the continuing care of the child and family. These recommendations will aid the referring agency in assisting the family with their child's return to home, school and community, or the child's placement in an appropriate level of care.
